Gingivoplasty

The gum line also shapes the smile.

Gingivoplasty reshapes the gum contour: when the gum covers part of the crown of the teeth, in what is called a gummy smile, or when the line runs unevenly from one tooth to the next.

It is an in-office procedure under local anaesthesia, usually planned together with veneers or whitening when the aim is to harmonise the whole smile.
